What is LED UV Inkjet Printing?
LED UV Inkjet printing combines high-intensity LED lamps and LED UV-curable inks via a process called Drop on Demand, or DOD printing. During this process, the print modules produce individual ink droplets and selectively print them onto a substrate. The printers can apply ink to any common substrate, be it paper, PVC, or corrugated surface.
What is special about the ink is that it contains specialized molecules called photo initiators. These molecules are receptive to light with wavelengths between 385 and 395nm (nanometers). Once the bright light exposes the ink, it instantly dries and forms a permanent bond with the substrate.
